is it advisable to have sexual intercourse during the period of placenta previa?
i’m now on 17th week and doctor mentioned about lower placenta, however also said they would monitor it for further weeks since it is likely to move up. First of all, does sexual intercourse aid in vaginal delivery / birth and how far sexual intercourse is advisable during the period of baby held in lower placenta?
There is a huge difference between a low-lying placenta and a placenta previa as far as treatment. In a complete placenta previa, you should not have any sex at all, as doing so can cause severe bleeding, and also you can not deliver vaginally because this causes a separation of the placenta from the uterine wall during delivery and this cal kill the baby and cause hemorrhaging in the mother. If it is just a low-lying placenta that is not covering the cervix in any way, then you can continue to have sex right up until your water breaks so long as there are no other complications throughout the pregnancy.
